78th International AsLiCo Competition for Young Opera Singer 2027
The AsLiCo Competition has marked the beginning of the careers of countless opera singers. Alongside legendary figures such as Renata Scotto, Carlo Bergonzi, Mirella Freni, Piero Cappuccilli, and Katia Ricciarelli, the Competition has, over the past fifteen years, launched the careers of artists including Gezim Myshketa, Alessandro Luongo, Davide Luciano, Teresa Iervolino, Federica Lombardi, Giovanni Sala, Marigona Qerkezi, Caterina Sala, and Alessia Panza.
The winners will take part in the training programme organised by the AsLiCo Academy. Upon completion of the programme, they will be engaged in the opera productions of the 2027/28 Season.
Winners and finalists of the fourth edition of the AsLiCo Asia Competition (Seoul – 31 August 2026), organised in collaboration with the Beha Philharmonic Orchestra, will be admitted directly to the preliminary and semifinal rounds.

78th International AsLiCo Competition for Young Opera Singer 2027
The 2026 Competition will feature L’italiana in Algeri by Gioachino Rossini e Un ballo in maschera by Giuseppe Verdi (they will be represented in the traditional version within the Opera season 2026-2027 of OperaLombardia) and Rigoletto (Opera domani) by Giuseppe Verdi in a short version for Opera domani project XXX edition.
AsLiCo and Beha Philharmonic Orchestra, with the support of BH and Orchem, are pleased to introduce the 3rd AsLiCo Asia Competition. Among the participants of the Asian Competition: 15 candidates at most will be deemed eligible to be invited to the Eliminations round and 5 candidates at most will be deemed eligible to be invited to the Semi-final that will be held at Teatro Sociale di Como.
Winners are committed to undertake to training and opera preparation courses as per the calendar in art. 9.
At the moment of the registration, candidates are required to indicate in which section they want to apply for the Competition.
The Competition is structured in two stages:
- Pre-selections, that will take place in Italy and around Europe, following the schedule in art. 2;
- Competition (Eliminations, Semi-Final and Final) that will be held at Teatro Sociale di Como from January 3rd to 6th, 2026.
Candidates who have passed the Pre-selections, as well as winners, ‘honourable-mentioned’ and finalists of previous editions of the Competition will have access to the Competition.

Registrations for the AsLiCo International Competition for Young Opera Singers 2025 are open.

- Salisburgo, Salzburger Landestheater – December 8th 2025 (max 60 candidates)
- Catania, Teatro Sangiorgi – December 10th 2025 (max 40 candidates)
- Como, Teatro Sociale – December 15th 2025 (afternoon/evening – max 50 candidates)
- Como, Teatro Sociale – December 16th 2025 (max 80 candidates)
- Valencia, Palau de Les Arts Reina Sofia – December 17th 2025 (max 60 candidates)
- Berlino, Deutsche Oper Berlin – December 19th 2025 (max 60 candidates)
- Como, Teatro Sociale – December 22nd 2025 (FULLY BOOKED)
- Winners, honourable-mention and finalists of previous editions of the AsLiCo Competition – Como, January 3rd and 4th 2026
The chance to audition is guaranteed to the first candidates who register, up to the maximum number of available spots for each pre-selection date. Once this limit is reached, as specified for each date, candidates may be assigned an alternative date.
AsLiCo will not consider valid the submissions lacking the required attachments as well as the registrations submitted beyond the deadline on November 25th, 2025 by 6.00pm.

Applications for the 2027 AsLiCo International Competition for Young Opera Singers will be open from 16 October until 25 November 2026 (6:00 p.m. CET).
Applicants may apply to only one competition category and must indicate their chosen category when submitting their application.

The amount of the registration fee is 70 euros.
